It doesn’t get much hotter than the EGG cookin’ in July! Make sure to keep yourself hydrated with a bit of whatever you’re using for the Beer Can Chicken. Ice Cream Sandwiches are also a great way to stay cool. Looking for some great ideas for a summer cook out? Try out a Pimento Cheeseburger or Dr. BBQ’s Spare Rib Surprise. Pop up thermometer in Turkey

I have a 5 lbs Perdue Turkey Breast with a plastic pop up thermometer.
Can I use this in the BGE or do I have to remove it before cooking? This is my first bird on the BGE and I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

    Thomas,
In the trash can with it. Use your meat thermometer, and pull off when the breast reads 165.
    Enjoy!

Thomas,[p]It works fine in the Egg!! I have used both it and a Polder to check and the thing popped around 167 deg - that's what the Polder read when it popped out. Use it - works fine. I have since used it along with the Polder 3 more times and its always very close to 165 deg.[p]Tim
