There is a good article in the Feb issue of Bon Appetit on oven made,
5 hour Luau pork (butt) wrapped in banana leaves. Looks like a perfect egg cook. Has anyone done one similar?[p]DLR

    DLR,
Yup, I did a picnic shoulder luau in the egg. Big Kahuna feast! The kiki gods were pleased and so was I. 5 hours- well, mine took 14 cause I wanted pulled pig. Used banana leaves held together with bamboo skewers- from my local Asian grocer.

DLR,[p]I did a pork shoulder wrapped in nanner leaves. I forget what else I did, but I pretty much followed an oven recipe leaving out the liquid smoke and adjusting the cooking time for a slow cook in the egg.[p]I thought it could have been better, but the people at the party I took it to all loved it...and that is all that matters. :)[p]Good Luck with it,[p]Sean
