Thanks, Old Dave, for the starter recipe. I haven't made biscuits yet - I like bread baking better, and have used the starter (suitably refreshed) for the past 3 loaves.[p]On a whim this morning, I sprayed today's loaf with apple juice, first as it went into the oven and then 5 minutes before it was done. The color is the most glorious golden I've ever attained.[p]Ken
