Butt Injecting.........

edited 11:56AM in EggHead Forum
Just curious how many of you do inject your Boston Butts? What kind of mixture do you use? Do you find it a) adds more moisture b) adds a little more taste in the middle of the butt c) both. Did you also happen to find that the butt cooked quicker?[p]Thanks,

I am one who likes to inject butts. I use a mixture sorta like the one Stogie posted years ago. [p]Stogie's injection
    2 cups apple juice
    1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    1/4 cup worcestershire
1/4 cup corn syrup (or sugar or honey
1-2 TBSP rub (what you use on the butt....finely ground in coffee grinder.
Heat through and rub does not clog injector. [p]I find it adds a little more taste to the inside of the butt, but have not noticed more moisture or shorter cooking time.[p]Beers

Nature Boy, that injection is perfect timing as I am doing two butts Tuesday night for Wednesday lunch at work. I just made it with Dizzy Dust and used honey for the sweetness. Great taste!!! I may just have to plaster the bun with it for a little extra kick. Thanks Mang. Tom
