edited 9:34PM in EggHead Forum
Entered my first contest this weekend and won First Place for Butt and won First Place Brisket and won Best of Show for the highest point total of all entries for the Butt! Almost passed out...not braggin' but wanted to say a great big thank you to every one who has responded to my silly questions and offered up great suggestions.[p]Dr. BBQ, if you read this, thank you so much for your book and the replies to some of my post and to the "Whiz" for his replies and a killer web site.....[p]And to everyone else on this site who takes the time to help newbies like me......Now I did not win much cash, but that Blue Ribbon and that Trophy....first contest....already have a special place in my office at home...

    Steve Sosebee,
Congratulations Steve! I'm assuming that award-winning butt and brisket were cooked on an Egg. Whereabouts was the competition?
Show off that ribbon and trophy with pride!

Steve Sosebee,[p]That's a great first showing. I don't think it will always be that easy, but if you're following the good Dr's methods, you're going to make some great food![p]Smokey

  • Steve Sosebee,Congrates to you on your win. If you play golf it may now be your second hobby because the contest bug has bit. It is a lot of fun and work. What part of North Georgia you be in? Good Luck on future contests. We live below Atlanta but grew up in North Georgia and roam in the area often.
