<p />anyone have a BBQ sauce recipie that is simular to Gate's out of Kansas City. It is my favorite but hate running to BBQ's galore everytime I run out, (not to mention the 4 bucks)when I probibly have all the ingredents for it in my pantry. Thanks in advance [p]GROUPER On THE GRILL you GOT to love it.[p]

    flyinbob,[p]Found this :
    Ollie Gate's Barbecue Sauce[p]Makes about 3 quarts [p] 1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup salt
    2 tablespoons celery seed
    2 tablespoons ground cumin
    2 tablespoons ground red pepper
    2 tablespoons garlic powder
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    2 quarts ketchup
    2 cups apple vinegar
    1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 teaspoon lemon juice [p]1. In a small bowl, mix together sugar,
salt, celery seed, cumin, red pepper, garlic
powder, and chili powder. Set aside. [p]2. In a large bowl, combine ketchup,
vinegar, liquid smoke, and lemon juice. Add
dry ingredients, and mix well. Serve warm or
at room temperature. [p]3. Sauce can be stored in an airtight
container in refrigerator for 2 to 3 weeks
or in freezer for up to 6 months. [p]Will post the link where I found it, too.
