I've had my large Egg for 6 weeks and finally got around to calibrating. The calculator at The Naked Whiz's site predicted water boiling at 202.2*, the vote by my Poulder and Maverick probes was 205*, and the BGE thermo read 220. I'd guess that 15* is just enough at low temps that you'd rather not have the error. Suppose calibrating might be worth the couple of minutes it takes...also brings my grid vs dome temps a lot closer together!
Have fun,
Steve
