i have a number of small plastic bags of woods - pecan, alder, red oak, etc. - how long do these wooods keeps their ability to flavor food. [p]thanks for your imput

    JJ, thats for sure..but I have heard that two years is usually the time when the wood begins to lose its smoke appeal. I have some that are getting close or beyond and still use it. One can compare fresh cut woods to the older for a quick sensory check...Dang...I missed ya for coffee this morning..!
