Smokeless fire pit

Stumbled on these, then did a little google research...and now I freaking want one. Anyone ever heard of them?

I like the "ablaze" version the best, as it seems at least somewhat portable for camping. The guy that owns the company is an egghead, at least claims to be in his blog.
Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I'm looking at them also. Considering them for our retail store. I really like the idea.

@pgprescott I say order a promo one and do a review as a write off.

Thats my my biggest gripe with fire pits. Someone always is sucking smoke usually because they are burning partially wet wood and wind.

I love the smell of a live fire...campin', KBQ.
If you eat smoke, you're doin' it wrong.

Armed with a bernzOmatic L and G weed torch, extra long pyro claw, and kindling, I can take care of the fire easily.

This fancy firepit isn't ticklin' my fancy.
Those crazy expensive LP/NG pits where the rocks light up are cute too.

You still get smoke, and it appears to me, unless you are over top of it, you can't see the wood burning.
I like our 42" diameter x 42" deep (filled with gravel) pit. Good sized logs, allowing you to experience anything from a bonfire, to smaller evening campfires.
The smoke is part of it for me, I suppose, but using quality, seasoned wood, the issue is not bad.
I suppose it is cool that the reduction of smoke is the offer, but, using the pit properly helps that issue, as well.
I think this would be nice for those of a less bohemian lifestyle, but as for me, (just barely one step ahead of Neanderthal) I like my set up.

Their little stainless model is $319 on amazon, and the big drop in is $599. I'm guessing the others fall into that somewhere.

@YukonRon I have a big firepit as well. This is more for camping and mobility, and really for my wife that hates smoke and doesn't like sitting around a fire pit.

Makes sense. I can't keep My Beautiful Wife out of the fire pit. I get it started, she tends the snot out of it. I guess we are both just a step above Neanderthals.
I can see this being a great addition, especially for camping. Not a huge costly fix either, which is cool.
