Only thing that's missing is 5 more! Filets are happier together. And with a bacon jacket. But seriously, enjoy!DFW - 1 LGBE & Happy to Adopt More...

The filet is a little thicker than 1 inch. I applied a liberal amount of salt and pepper before lighting the grill. Any suggestions on temp and how long I should cook on each side to achieve a perfect rare steak?
-
Maybe a lil late to the show but I would fire to around 550ish and flip every 4 mins till desired temp is achieved. I would also skip the pepper. High temps will burn most seasonings other than salt. Add them after you cook while resting the protein.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

Use a thermopen or other instant read thermometer. Pull it when it gets above 115 if you are shooting for rare. It will keep cooking some after you take it off.
