New Pelican Elite Coolers

Options
The new Pelican coolers are lighter than before because they are injection molded instead of roto molded per their customer service but they say the ice retention is the same.
For instance the new 50QT cooler weighs 26.39# empty and the old 45Qt weighs 35.95# empty.
One of the other differences is the new models have molded handles and drink holders in the lid. The old style had hinged handles and no drink holders.
They seem to be priced the same at about $350. So you get 5 more quarts capacity and less weight for the same price. Both still have a lifetime warranty.

I have one of the older style 35QT Pelicans. Can confirm it's heavy AF. BUT it keeps ice for a week when camping, so well worth it.

I like the improvements, seems slimmed down too.

Have had some issues with Pelican.
3rd 35qt has failed, first use camping.  Air leak.  Ice water 12 hours after adding 10 lbs of ice with 2 XL Chillin Brews.

We'll see how Pelican responds, again.
It's getting old though, been dealing with this since early Spring.

Thank God for a lifetime warrantee.
