So excited!
Am 1 step closer to owning a new mini.
It's 1500 miles away.
Any ideas on how to pack it for the trip back on Southwest Airlines?

There's a story about how an egghead took one aboard as a carry-on, claiming it was the urn containing his deceased relative's ashes.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Should I separate top from bottom?

I would take it as carry on. It will be a hassle as it will be unusual, but I wouldn't put it in the belly of the planeColumbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

Carry on? It's not a micro-mini, so I doubt that it will fit in the overhead nor under the seat in front of you. Maybe if you take the bottom and your travel companion takes the top it would work as carry-on. Why don't you investigate trucking the egg home ... insure it and you will be worry free.

Ship it... With insurance.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

I agree, I would ship it. Talk to a local dealer and insure it. Done. If it is not brand new, I would guess the soot and smell would would make you a pretty unpopular travel companion...Lake Keowee, SC
