Drove up to Holyoke, MA and picked up a pick up load of Wicked Good Weekend Warrior from the distributor. Saved a bunch and had a great chat with the guy. I should make it to the spring!

30 bags? woah. Time to burn one down.

Nice half pallet. My pallet is supposed to be arriving in MN tomorrow.
I did a split half n half of Weekend Warrior and Jakes blend. Should be interesting.
-
Just under $14 a bag. It's around $25 a bag in the local stores. He threw in a couple of torn bags of Jakes Blend for free for me to try out. Cooking a brisket with it as I type this. I was buying Rockwood and Ozark Oak from Firecraft which I really liked but.it didn't hold up to the shipping. This is much less in comparison but still more than Royal Oak. I have used iWGWW before and liked it. I will let everyone know what I think of both after a few cooks.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

Yep. I'd load up for that price, too. Nice score, indeed.

Excellent. We were getting it by the pallet delivered to Columbia, SC for around 16 - 17. I'd load up too. Good people. Spoke on the phone to them several times.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

Great score! WG burns long and clean.
I got a 60 bag pallet shipped for $16 a 22# bag early this summer. 35 bags for me and the rest to egghead friends.
Good stuff, Lee Ann is easy to deal with and a nice person to talk with. This was my second pallet buy from WG. -
WGWW was my first premium lump purchased. Wish Ace would start carrying it again and do the ship to store option.

Phatchris said:How many do you have to buy for the $14... Is a 1/2 pallet 30 bags? I only have a six foot bed with a cover, not sure how many I could fit.
Call me strange but but there is some comfort to know that I have plenty of good charcoal in the basement to keep me egging for a long while!XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE -
That's a great price for some premier lump. I would drive some miles for that deal.
-
That's cheaper than the cost that I can get it for at 17$ each. Our store needs to sell more than just me buying it
-
Dang, Jakes blend is like $28 here. $14 would be a substantial savings.
-
Nice haul right there!

@4Runner @Gamecockeggman yall want to go in on a pallet?Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

They went back to brown bags on the WGWW? Last time I bought they had just switched from brown bags to white bags and the product was not as good (mostly due to shipping).LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Both the Jakes Blend and Weekend Warrior are stamped "Product of Paraquay" and say Wicked Good Charcoal, Maine. This lump gets around for $14 a bag. Can you imagine cutting the trees in Maine, sending them to Paraquay to be turned into lump charcoal and then shipped back to the Northeast to be distributed around the country. They probably have the lump made in Paraquay to avoid environmental regulations.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

If you stack neatly in a 1/2 ton pick up w/6.5 foot box, a full pallet (60 bags) will go about half way up the rear window. A half pallet (30 bags) will easily fit under a tonneau cover. This is for the WGWW, from my personal experience.

If it is a tri-fold, it may come off pretty easy so you could just haul a whole pallet worth.
