Georgia Red Wings/ Texas Pete vs Franks
Medium-Rare
Posts: 72
I'm trying this recipe and have a question. Does it make a big difference if I use Franks Red Hot instead of Texas Pete's? Usually when I try a recipe for the first time I follow it to a T and the adjust going forward. RRP's modified recipe calls for Pete's. However, I only have Franks in the house.
Wings aren't on my regular diet so I want to make them as good as I can for the two or three times a year I indulge.
Hoping RRP will join in and give me some advice here. Thanks!

Franks is what most folks in Buffalo use I think. You can't go wrong with either.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

The only hot sauce brand that I personally would not use in that recipe is Tabasco due to the heat and the proportionate relationship of that sauce in the marninade. There are subtle flavors from the ingredients and having one hot one overpower all the rest then I say "why bother?".Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Thanks RRP, did not get PM but the link above worked. Do you really let them soak 50 hours?

Been a fireman for years and everything in the firehouse tastes better with Pete, that being said you will not notice any difference with Frank's. Signed - a true Texas Pete fanCarrollton, Va
