chicken breast on croissant - simple and delicious

Last night was one of our simple comfort meals from the egg. I started with chicken breasts flattened and then marinated in zesty Italian dressing for 6 hours, dusted with DP Raging River and on for 4/4/2 direct at 375. The final 2 was to melt pieces of havarti and muenster cheese. Then served on a rich butter croissant with mayo and lettuce. So simple but sooooooo good!

That looks great Ron. It is a great match because the croissant is shaped better for the chicken than a round bun. I will definitely borrow this idea.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

A word of caution I should have given in case you haven't used the zesty Italian dressing before as a marinade. Even though I said direct I actually cook these slightly off center rather than over the bowels of the fire since they will burn easily, but it isn't a foul tasting burn if you do mess up!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

SWMBO just informed me that if these sandwiches don't reappear in our routine scheduled menu she will be kicking my sorry butt! LOL! Don't worry I still have a 50 pound advantage on her!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I like it, nice job. The problem here is finding croissants that aren't under baked and over proved.

Wow, those sound and look good! The combination of the italian dressing and the sweetness of the raging river sounds like it might be wonderful. And the two cheeses, amazing!
