My 1st complaint about my MiniMax

Nothing major here ... just looking for suggestions and ideas. Seems I move my MM around a lot, which is its intended purpose. Taking it on the road several times already. Anyway, the little rubber pads on the feet of the stand have already cracked and come off. No biggie, but they are nice when traveling so it keeps it from sliding around in a vehicle. Any suggestions for a better replacement? I'd like something thicker and heavier so they last this next go round. They sure didn't make it very long.

mine did not come with any rubber on the feet. adding something would be nice.

If you go to a good ACE hardware store back with the nuts and bolts they have assorted rubber feet and I bet if you look hard enough and are creative I bet you'll find something. I had a similar need and ended up drilling small holes through the rubber bumpers and then using small nuts and bolts was able to come up with a solution. Good luck!

@RRP had my idea! They have rubber feet that are on 1/4 20 threaded bolts on them to bolt onto or into tables. Drill on!

Yep agree the standard nest slip on boots are hinky. I've thought of using some HVAC/R condensing unit vibration isolator pads.

I would take a look at McMaster Carr. Many styles and material type so it will last many years to come.

I'm thinking of getting a MM.  I've been thinking that I'll build a wooden box (open top) for it.  something that could get tossed in the vehicle without worry of tippage.  Maybe even eyelets to strap it down.  

For the replacement feet, I'm sure an Ace Hardware would have something for you

I've never strapped mine down and haven't had issues and mines seen lots of miles already

@RickyBobby let's toss it in the bed of my Silverado and make a run to the beach. I'm just saying one dumb ass cutting you off, accident, pothole, or unforseen obstacle could literally scramble the egg that is so hard to get. I'll take precautions & secure it.

I completely understand. My back seat in my dodge truck flips up and I have a perfectly flat area to place my MiniMax with no room for it to go anywhere.

Ricky that's totally understandable then in your sort of vehicular transport. Throwing it in the back of a truck bed and crossing your fingers for luck would be a disaster waiting to happen to the MM.

Lol! Although I did travel a long ways with mine this past week just tossed in the back of my work van and not strapped in, but I have been known to make dumb decisions before. That's the main reason I started this thread because the rubber feet keep it from sliding around so I really need to replace them pronto!

Like many of you, my MM has the same problem rubberized feet come off easily with transportation. I am going to try a can of the liquid rubber handle covering. I have used this product a number of times over the years around the house. I will try and post pictures and results as I have time.

Just went out and looked. Damn you are correct. It sucks, sorry they suck. At a minimum they could have used something as heavy as the ones in the Nest of the Large. Not sure I want the feet added.

I agree. I think I've lost 2 or 3 of the feet already. I'd like to see an aftermarket Egg Carton for the Mini Max for two reasons: A) so that the carten can me turned upside down and be used as a table and for some extra protection during travel. Maybe one day...

BTW- Does anyone else have an oval fire ring??

Thats what seatbelts are for. I would throw my kids in the truck bed (they are self-righting) and put the MM up front belted in.
