That is a nice appetizer you have there!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

That is a great chop. No room on the tray. They were in excellent form today. We got there early and got to eat off the first run so it was all cooked perfectly.

The brisket and that beef rib are makin' me weak in the knees.

And you're brave for hitching the KJ up to the back like that! Maybe run a cord through the DFMT so it doesn't pop off somewhere?

Ate there last month and it was good, but extremely expensive. I had beef ribs, pork ribs and brisket. My friend had about the same thing with a couple side dishes and drinks. I think the whole bill was about 70 bucks. Ridiculous.

its on there pretty damn tight. May put the cap in the car on the ride home but so far so good. 2hrs to go. I suckered Lakewade in to driving the 8 hour haul so it just might be time to pour a Tito's in the Yeti Rambler and settle on in.

it's kinda upper middle of the road price wise. Cheaper than franklins, more than several others. I think most people order way too much. That's the trick. We ordered 4.5lbs of meat, 4 sides, 4 beers and it was $102. We have 2 lbs of meat left for sammiches for the rest of the trip

Some day when I'm really retired, I'd love to do a BBQ tour through Texas.  The highlight of my recent ill-fated Texas foray was all the great BBQ.  Franklin's, Killen's, Gatlin's.  It takes so much time - not only to visit all the great places, but also to recover from the gluttony prior to experiencing the next incredible spot.  I'm up to the challenge!!

It's on now. Tito's is flowing and wings going on the KJ jr. Big pot of chili on the stove and we cleaned out the fancy wine we had been saving throughout the year. Headed to the thirsty goat tavern for some live music and revelry after dinner. Happy new year all- Tex
