Today we had jerk chicken from a grocery store jerk marinade, left over square bottle from the back of the fridge.  Got the egg going great and put the chicken quarters on when the temp was about 400f.  Forgot about it for a half hour and discovered the temperature above 500, and  black charred skin on two of the pieces, their internal thermapen temperature about 180f, so I pulled them.  I also pulled the other pieces, they were at about 140 and will get further cooking in the oven later.  Anyway, these 35 minute thigh and leg pieces were perfectly done.  Fastest chicken cook ever for me.  GREAT taste, texture and moisture.  Life is good....
