Looks great.  I did this once and cored it out and added BGE's recipe for BBQ soup.   It was excellent.   What recipe did you use for the bread?

Awesome, I love to make artisan bread. Bought a copry or The Bread Bakers Apprentice . A very valuable tool if you want to make really accurate excellant bread. Beautiful picture and presentation , congrats.
  • We had  our annual Pizza & Bread class here at the Egg store yesterday.  We teach out of the Jim Lahey books....My Bread/My Pizza.  Great stuff.

Did you use something to create steam?

That is a beautiful loaf. I am not familiar with the Lahey book, would like to know more about the method ^:)^ Did you bake in a Dutch oven?

Very nicely done.  Looks like you've had a lot of practice!  Thinking maybe I should try that sometime!
  • Yes, a 5 qt DO works great.  Lid on for a portion of the cook  to create steam.

One of our best selling books here at the shop, Pick one up online and give it a try.

We also did a coconut/chocolate desert pizza that is very tasty as well.

    Hello Skiddy,

While we do try to hold our own as a quality Egg dealer....this class was taught by Michelle and Greg Vagnati.  This experienced Egg-couple are from Santa Monica and travel up to help with our annual baking class.  Eating hot/fresh bread is more of my forte. LOL
