Cooking flank steak at 500 like everything says. I have a woo3 I usually use to cook at the felt line should I take it out to be closer to the fire?

How close was the grate to your charcoal? I may have loaded too much charcoal in it... it's practically touching.

Usually I'm at the top of the fire box at least but last night I did up some chicken breast first ,then the flank then a peach cobbler on some leftover lump I had in the egg maybe halfway up the fire box I was just using what was in it so I could clean it out and reload it at three am for a butt I have on now2 LBGE
