Coffee right now, but I tried a bunch of saisons this past weekend. Figured since I've got one fermenting, I should at least know how they are supposed to taste. Kinda important to have some benchmarks to compare it to. Tried our local Lakewood Till and Toil, Rabbit Hole Wonderlust and Ommegang Hennepin. The last one was my favorite. Can't wait to see how mine turns out.

Free Wente Pinot grigio on Delta at 35k feet. Just crossed the Missippi headin for Houston on bidness trip. Love reading this forum on flights. Makes the trip go by faster. Except I usually end up blowing a drink out my nose laughing at this comedy show. Edit: Missippi is how folks in Mississippi pronounce it.

I was a bit worried about it. I'm not what you would call a "hop head". To me, a lot of those beers taste like pine trees, but I heard so much about it and when I spotted it at a store where you can build your own 6 packs from singles, I figured why the hell not? Pleasantly surprised. I thought it was pretty well balanced. Or maybe I'm starting to appreciate hops more. I'd drink it again. Now I wanna try their 120 if I can ever find it.

Isn't the 120 like 12% ABV??? To potent for me. Not to mention very bitter I bet?

It was a rough weekend.  My 40th birthday party and Germany won the world cup.

Saturday night i drank two Founders Double Troubles and a fifth of Captain Morgan.

    Sunday I had These beers:

    Double Trouble
    Bourbon Barrel Biscotti Break
    Brandy Old Stock
    Goose Island Bourbon Barleywine

and a very healthy pour of Pappy 20 to celebrate Germany winning the cup.

Great weekend, but now I'm gonna take it easy for a while.

    I got one for ya.  While in the Outer Banks in Kill devil Hills over the 4th, we heard about a hurricane coming our way.  We rode it out.  To commemorate the occasion, I came up with this cocktail;

    Arthur

    1 1/2 oz coconut rum
    1/2 oz mango rum
    1/2 oz silver tequila
    1/2 oz bourbon
    1/2 oz amaretto
    1 1/2 oz pineapple juice
    1/2 oz orange juice
    1/2 oz cream of coconut
    Lime wedge squeezed in
    Pineapple garnish
I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled.

It's not too bitter to me. Surprisingly sweet with citrus. Almost like brandy. I aged mine 1 year.
