Allsid did a post about the new BGE model debuting at the Hearth, Patio, and Barbeque Expo here in SLC this weekend.  I was planning on going but I was thinking about the Home Show going on the same weekend; plus the Expo is not open to the public.   :((

However, a bunch of products from the show were featured in the paper this morning, including the new Kamado Rocket:

Gas, wood or lump (can use the gas to light the lump, nifty!), 150 to 800 F range, tile exterior, only $3,200.  Unique looks, that's for sure!

Interesting, all USA product. I'm betting they will position the Komodo Kamado as the knock off, it is made offshore. 

Would like to see one of these things, just to appreciate or laugh at the engineering. Stainless fire box, intriguing.

That is from a couple of guys who bought Richard Johnsons business. You can find all the details on the Johnsons at a site called http://www.kamadofraudforum.org/  I'm not sure if the new owners are associated with the old owners or not but the company has a shady past. The tiles on the very top don’t even line up. Looks like my 2 yr old glued them on.

I wouldn’t have thought there is much untapped market for these very high priced kamados.

That top vent screw is gonna gunk up something awful and be a **** to clean.
