Vegetable cooking tool suggestion

Having fun with my new XL BGE and one surprise has been how much we like vegetables on the BGE. With just some simple seasoning and oil the results are awesome. One issue I have is the tools used to cook them. A foil bag works well but then I can't see how they are doing easily. I really don't like skewers at all as they are too difficult to turn and flip. Anyone have suggestions? I took a look at our local grill store and could help but feel that everything is just a gimic, but then again sometimes the right tool can really pay off.

Do you have the CI grid? Flipping it over to the smoother surface is good for fish and veggies.

Lots of good ideas. I like some form of a basket or my wok.

I love this basket:It's pretty sturdy and the detachable handle is key. One of the best eggcessories I have bought.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I use a basket and it works beautifully. Just throw it on the grill first and let it come to temp then throw in the veggies.Bristow Virginia XL&Mini One of the best feelings in life is watching other people enjoy the food I cooked!

I use the weber grilling tray for vegetables, fish and shrimp. Just fits on the large. ;;)Every day is a bonus day and every meal is a banquet in Winter Springs, Fl !

I've got a SS skillet/basket thing that works great. About 10 inches and perforated. Handle is removable so you can shut the lid. Got it at Lowes in the summer.Minimax and a wood-fired oven.

+2 on the veggie basket-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

I think I have a gift card for Lowes so maybe I will take a look. Online I can see two options. I like the idea of being able to see the vegetables, and the basket not taking up the entire grid. With my welding gloves I should have no trouble being able to flip them around a bit too.XL egg owner, home brewer, jogger, coffee roaster, gamer

Like Mickey, I usually use a SS pan, if the veggies will have lots of butter and sugar, I use a disposable foil pan.For large chunk veggies (sometimes wings) I have a burger basket with the handle cut off. Makes it easy to flip the veggies. Similar to this one.Another option is a rib rotisserie rack, with out the spit of course.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
