Do I need a woo? . Wish I could find those once made gratemates

    You could probably homebrew a set of gratemates without too much trouble. If you can find a thread with pictures of them, you should be able to do it. Have you searched the greeneggers forum?

    Even if the Woo was shipped in a flat rate box it would only save a few dollars. CGS boxes are custom made to fit the products shipped to make sure they arrive perfect.
    I have a Woo for both my Small Eggs and one for my Mini. I also have an original hand rolled Woo for my XL that I still use. I gave away my Grate Mates after using my Woo. Money well spent. You will not be sorry with your purchase.

    Maybe if I had a welder and was able to cut,bend and find the right metal straps. But I don't.

    Look for flat aluminium bar at Lowes - their selection is better than HD in my 'hood. You can bend that stuff to make all kinds of things. You could make gratemate-like thingys without welding. or you could buy 2 bricks and use them to raise your grid. That's what I do.
