OT - NHL Gentleman's Wager

Hey Little Steven, do you like gift sets Penzey's puts together? My Red Wings are playing like crap. I'm just lining up what you may want to pay off our wager. Your Leafs are looking pretty good.

As long as they figure out the OT/SO, I think they will be fine.

I would just offer him something like this:

    image
  • I don't want to make his wife mad. She's a nice lady!
  • Fred - send him a $10 coupon for Giant Tiger and he'll be in heaven, like most Leaf fans he is easily impressed.
Delta B.C. - Move over coffee, this is job for alcohol!
  • The payoff is a gift box of rubs and/or sauces like the gift exchange from summer.
  • The wager is a two-game deal. The Wings play the Leafs (the 1st time since moving to the Eastern Conference) on Dec 21st in Toronto. We agreed to add the Winter Classic between the Wings and Leafs outdoors on New Year's Day in Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor. Most goals combined wins!

Ohhh!!!! goals on aggregate! How very Football(soccer) of you!
  • I'm confused. Where are the gentlemen in this wager again? Please tell me it's not you you and LS?

Keeping it Weird in the ATX
    2 Large BGE
    1 MiniMax BGE
    1 Karubecue C60 (aka-"The Dishwasher")
More accessories than TFJ knows about and one more purchase from mandatory counciling
  • @Eggcelsior - I proposed the wager about the Dec 21st game. I forgot about the Winter Classic. When I remembered, I wanted to include it. I figured a game in Toronto and a game here sounded even Steven (heh, heh) and he agreed.

Cen-Tex - I don't know what you're talking about. I'm one of the few PAYING taxes in these parts. They're thinking about re-naming a street after me.

I was thinking they'd name it after Barney ........ Rubble St.

Precisely why goals on aggregate exist. To allow for the most even competition possible. I was commending you, good sir.

The whole city is Rubble St. Barney isn't short changed there.

  • Freddie,

Leafs have had a pretty easy run so far. December is BUTT UGLY. Don't give up on your Dead Things quite yet.

  • I never give up on them.  Just frustrated over their miserable OT & SO record.  Their game last night was terrible.  They were flatter than piss on a plate!
  • We managed to beat Buffalo one out of two :(( and the lowly Isles last night. We get two of three top centres back this week so it should improve.

Kessel looked super duper doing it.
  • We get your Caps on Saturday. Should be an interesting game.

They should have picked up Iginla instead of Alfie. Even Grabo.

I know. Penguins tonight, Habs Friday, Leafs the next night. Then Canada comes to town next week. Maybe if they can start beating Western Conference teams...
  • I didn't know they were playing Friday as well. Glad we're getting them the last night.

  • Ken Holland (Wings GM) has a thing for older players that tend to give away the puck in their own zone.  I've seen Alfie do that twice this year already!  Gotta break that habit Kenny!

I'm not. Hopefully Mike Green is back by then.
  • I'm going to watch the game tonight. Just a little recon for my boys

It's too bad about DeKeyser. He is scary fast through the neutral zone.

Holland's problem is that he was spoiled by the perfect human. He needs to realize there will never be another #5 to set up the breakout.
  • Just a quick question. Our season seats are reds. Platinum, Gold then Red. $215 apiece. How does that compare?

    Is that per game?
  • Per seat per game

Best seats are 220/game(closest to ice)
  • I think they are about $400 in TO. That's in Cdn. but it wouldn't matter much. All the decent seats are corporate and sold out for the next millennium. Mine aren't in my or my company's name. $60,000 to transfer.
