for the large egg, is the five cutout or three cutout fire ring the new design?

Does anyone know which one is the new design?  My large has the five cutouts and I have a spider to fit it.  The problem is, I have a crack from someone mishandling it (not me!).  I know I can repair it but just wondering if this is the new design or the old design.

I just bought my Egg this past August and it only has 3 cutouts.

Hmmm.. Guess that means the five leg spider only lives as long as long as you don't crack the fire ring...

I think the new ring also has the five cutouts. I would have to look but mine has the three notches on 1 side and you turn it over is has several half moon indentations.

LOL - guess I will just live on the wild side of life and use my 5 legged spider without having 3 intentions to tell me where to place it! Man am I a maverick or what?...
