Steak fail

I had the brilliant idea tonight to do my baked steak recipe in the egg (sort of a best of both worlds thing, get the smoke flavor, cast iron searing, and the garlic and mushrooms cooked in steak drippings with vermouth in the cast iron).  Unfortunately, when I tossed the garlic into the pan, one bounced out.  I tried grabbing it with tongs, but it fell through into the hot lump.

I ended up with burnt garlic flavored steak :(

Other than that, it turned out great.  I'm doing a clean burnout now to hopefully get rid of any residual burnt garlic.  I assume a long hot fire will eliminate the unwanted garlic flavor.
