commodity brisket

I asked for a packer at Costco. The guy knew what I wanted but when he yelled back to some other guy he said "hey, we got any more of those commodity briskets?" I have never heard of them called commodity briskets. They didn't have any but he said they routinely stock the cut, and don't cut their flats from the commodity stock. So they sell them as whole packers. Anybody have experience with Costco briskets and heard the "commodity" term before?
