Also scraped what was left of the original gasket. Going to do a clean burn and then high heat gasket (lower only prolly) install.

  • Clean burn and new lower gasket. If anyone has a clear way to describe how I should adjust my bands, I'd appreciate it. I'm not confident in what I did.

    Got that DFMT red hot. Spins like a top now...

  • Masked Marvel. What is the Cast iron grid set up. Where did you get them? I have not seen that before (I bet everyone but me knows exactly what they are :) )

    That's a two tier adjustable swing grate from Ceramic Grill Works. It is carbon steel, not can't iron.

  • Be careful with swing grate during a high-heat burn.  I warped the crap out of mine last year.  I had to "fix" it with a sledge and a concrete floor.

    BTW - Swing grate = awesome for those who don't own one.
