Say Hello to my Little Friend

My new favorite Eggcessory - the Lodge Sportsman Hibachi.  No more handling a hot Platesetter to go from indirect to direct or waiting to change temps.  Stabilized the Egg at 375 and put on the Rosemary red potatoes to roast.  Fired up the Hibachi to sear the CAB Filets, then onto the Egg indirect to finish.  Some of the best steak I've done.  May eventually get a Mini, but for the money, the Hibachi can't be beat for searing.  May become my go to for quick burgers or dogs, and the gasser is gone now for sure. Protected from flies by my grand daughter with the Bug A Salt.
It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.

  • Grand daughter looks lethal with that thing. Those flies don't stand a chance! Nice looking steaks, BTW.

Those hibachis have become popular here of late; only $63 at Amazon.

Nice! I love mine too. Did a nice rack of bacon for BLTs on mine this weekend when topped with our Lodge griddle. Fun little 'q
When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin'   Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?)

Nice new addition, I'd love to try cooking on one of those.

Your granddaughter looks deadly. Flies beware of this one.
