I plan on injecting a bird and doing it spatched. What is the best injection recipe to compliment the yard bird seasoning from plowboys (or any rub for that matter). Thanks.

Anyone? I have the same question/dilemma..

I don't think many people inject chickens due to their lack of thickness and the ability of the rub/marinade to impart enough flavor, but i am sure their are some good recipes out there.

I haven't tried injecting chickens but for turkey butter based injections work good so I would start there. Just an idea.

Nibble Me This -
I injected turkeys until realizing the meat is too tight to absorb the injection. I watched someone inject chickens on BBQ Pitmasters the other day and same result, they got hammered by the judges, too. Pork butts and briskets aren't as tight and seem to absorb injections more readily. it would probably work ok to just inject under chicken or turkey skin with a brine or marinade. Just me.
