Wood chunks

How many wood chunks do you normally use for baby back ribs? I have done few times and varying results. Thinking about three good chunks but let me know. Do you bury as well since will be about 4-5hour smoke

I use chunks and place them on top of the lump -- i get two hours of smoke out of this method and they say after two hours the meat is sealed??

I usually use 3 chunks depends on what kind of wood. I like hickory or pecan for ribs.
