@ScottborasjrI saw Rage at Voodoo Fest. Excellent show. I feel like breaking stuff (mirthfully) when I listen to them. Good feeling I'll crank it at home when SWMBO isn't around. My musical tastes are all over the bell curve.

@nolaegghead I used to be a very classic trained pianist. I could play Bach, Mozart etc. very sad that I let myself regress that talent. I'm all over the box with my playlist and my wife hates it when I go from Danzig to a concerto. It is what it is.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

@Scottborasjr glad you like them, they're amazing (especially live). The thing I love most about them is how they can take a completely random musical style (at least to the modern ear) like an old school Russian folk dance or Bavarian polka and turn it into a song that gets the entire room dancing like its the only thing the ever listen to. They're fantastic musicians and showmen of the highest caliber.

@Scottborasjr - very cool!
I played classical and everything else when I was in school. At one point I was in 5 bands including a professional orchestra in Heidelberg, mostly we did festivals, but we got to travel alot, France one time. I was one of about 4 Americans in that group, out of 50 or so.
Coolest gig was an American-German friendship orchestra. About half and half Germans and Americans from all over the country, the best players, all got together and lived in a castle for a week practicing for a performance. I played b-flat clarinet and had to transpose most of the classical pieces. Hell, but fun. We would head down to the small town at night and buy beer (no legal drinking age restriction back then). For the big performance, we did mostly classical, had about 200 musicians and choir, including strings. For the finale, we did Jesus Christ Superstar and brought in electric guitar, base and the whole ensemble of choir and orchestra. Wish I could do that again.
Still have my clarinet and sax. I need to put new pads on those and start playing again. Like riding a bike, right?

It comes right back @nolaegghead. Maybe something to pass the time at Brisket camp? Playing for the meat can only make it more tender.

@ChillyWillis - We'll have a professional band there in the evening. And I have a 1000 watt (or so) PA system to take up the slack when they're not playing. Count on no adults being present, whiners will be mocked. We will be in a venue where *almost* anything goes. If @henapple starts humping your leg, just shake him off by throwing a can of PBR across the room.

I think I'll bring some guitars and amps so people can get obnoxious. That will be fun. I have some other instruments too. My buddy has a drum set. This will be fun. Bring plenty of aspirin.

I wish I'd be able to make it but if it's October that's when we're planning on our Honeymoon. As much fun as making brisket would be..... I'd rather be Makin' Bacon
Edit: the guy who made the video didn't know who the band was but its the Pork Dukes. One of the best but unfortunately least known bands from the late 70's British punk scene.

One last song for you all on my way to bed... but also a great tune to wake up to.

I worked as a chef through college (and some of HS) in a restaurant and Toots and the Maytals as well as more obscure stuff like Max Romeo (uptown babies don't cry) was staple music. Managers were old hippies from Austin.
Make sum bacon, my friend.
