Thanks to everyone for sharing so many great tips on this site. The latest tip I tried was adding just 1 fire starter to the ash tray and lighting the lump from the bottom up. Within 12 minutes it was 580 degrees. Cool. I always had trouble getting my egg that hot in a matter of minutes.
