Pizza Peel temp

I was looking at a pizza peel today in bed, bath and beyond. It was an epicurious brand for $35. Sticker on the package said good to 350 temp. I think I know the answer, but would that work when egg temps for a pizza cook are ~500?

    peel or stone? if stone, then i would pass...too low temp rating. if peel then i really dont think the temp rating matters...you're only having it near any heat for a couple seconds when you slide the pie on or off the stone.

    It'll be fine - you only poke it under the pizza for a few seconds and typically only the front edge touches.  I think metal peels are a better choice, IMHO.  Unless you have a super or mega peel.

    I've seen Nola's peel on this site. I don't think it is for sale and if it was, I couldn't afford that craftsmanship!

    That's right henapple - you're making the trip - where you at?  Georgia?  Even farther than us...it's about a 10 hour drive.  I like bourbon.  Surprise me.  Lemme make sure I get these made first (haha not that it'd go to waste).
