@MaskedMarvel...Your post had me craving meatloaf so I gave it a shot .I don't have a v-rack yet so I used the top of my broiler pan (which had been rendered useless since the egg purchase) with some foil. It turned out deeelicious. I didn't get the smoke ring I was looking for but my craving has been satisfied! Will definitely cook this again. Served it with pinto beans and potatoes.

Looks great!  This is next up on my list!

Just thinking maybe the foil might have blocked some of the smoke.  I'm sure it was as good as it looked...ring or no ring!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

+1 on the foil. Had to improvise. I'm getting a rack today. Cooking on the egg is still somewhat new but every cook is an enjoyable learning experience!

Another great option with meatloaf is cooking it on a cedar plank on the egg.....very good!

Meatloaf on the egg and you'll never cook one in an oven again. Nicely done, my man, nicely done.

Do you have to have a V-Rack or Frogmat to do this?  Could I place it right on the rack?

Just a quick tip- wally world and publix near me sell those disposable grill toppers (Oscarware) that are handy for things like this.  I'm sure right on the grid would work fine, but the toppers are nice.  You can even fold them into a v-rack.
