In light of recent discussions, I went to the market during lunch time yesterday and bought a few ingredients for last night's dinner: my version of mac and cheese.
Well, rigatoni and cheese, anyway.
Very simple: rigatoni, mild ash covered yarra valley goats cheese, black truffle.

was right in saying that truffle oil holds nothing on the real thing.
I stand by the idea that they both serve their purposes.
Now, off to work to pay for it. :P
