It was tasty some dry spots. Saving them for chili.

Ditto that- so great that you are able to see him while he is on leave!

Why do you think brisket sometimes comes out dry?  I did my first one about a month ago- had it on from 10:30 PM till 3 PM before it came up to temp (we had a bit of a low fire from 3-6AM)! It was a flat which is what I decided was the problem (delicious but DRY- still I served it to 8 people with some bottled bbq sauce (had to improvise fast) and there was not a crumb left).  Looks like you used a packer- could you tell which spots were dry?  Would you do anything differently next time?  I am going to make another one (I found someone who sells packers near us) next weekend.

    Enjoy your nephew!!
