So on my first try at cooking pizza on my XL, it was really good. After eating lunch at my favorite pizza place in ATL (Fellini's), I bought 2 fresh pizza doughs. Brought them home, and we were ready to roll.
Set up... Indirect, legs up, 600 degrees. Lodge Cast iron pizza pan on grate.
I cut each dough ball in half and rolled it out on parchment paper. Dressed them with sauce, veggies, and cheese.
Transferred to Egg with pizza peel. Cooked 10 minutes.
Just right!

@Mthomp13 did you preheat the lodge pan?  I use a lodge pan a lot (it is my wife's favorite pan) but I just fix the pizza right in the pan and put it on the raised grid.

@Duganboy yes I did preheat the pan. I just got the pan the other day so I am just going to have to keep trying it out.

try it with just making the pizza in the pan also and see which you like best.  It makes it super easy when you make the pizza in the pan. I put EVOO in the pan and then just roll out the dough.
