So i'm having a steak cook off w/ my neighbor this weekend. With that, I thought i'd get in some practice prior to the contest so I can bring some type of game to the table.
USDA Choice New York Strips
Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper about 5 minutes before cook
Seared on spider using small cast-iron grid. Moved to small and roasted @ 400 till temp was reached.
1 medium-well, 3 medium and 1 between medium-rare and medium
On the way home from Costco, I decided i would make garlic butter balls. I put a butter ball on each steak during rest.
I'm my biggest critic and will usually find a fault with any cook. These were spot on and I can't wait till my next steak cook.
Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....
