Gasket Luck

I've seen an awful lot of comments about bad gaskets lately, and I feel as though I've lucked out. I've been cooking on my Egg consistently since September, and the original gasket is still holding strong. Am I just lucky, or are the gaskets inconsistent?

I still have an original gasket on mine and I thought it wouldn't fail but I'm seeing some signs that show it's on its way. Like others say, give it time. It will fail.

The really early failures are usually from poor adhesive and/or installation. The dome to base fit has a lot to do with it.
