Looked on their website - only places I saw listed were central/south texas.    Anyone know of any retail locations around DFW that sells Wicked Good charcoal?

Thanks

You can get it shipped directly from wicked good if you don't have any luck...with shipping it isn't too much more $$ than you'll find retail anyway.

Shipping to the Atlanta area was $35 for 3 bags. 8-} . I thought that was a little much. I can buy a 22# bag at ACE Hardware for $20+ tax. Ordering online costs me more than my local retailer?

My local retailer is almost $24/ bag after tax. I get 3 bags shipped for $75 from wicked good...that's to Colorado...weird they are $35 for you.

So you are paying $25.00 a bag shipped from WGC, instead of less than $24.00 a bag from a local retailer?

Yes. If I do it that way. The retailer is out of the way enough that I'll get bags if im that way or if need be I get them sent to me.

$75.77 for 3 bags ($25.26/ 22#bag) online from Wicked VS 20.99+ tax ($22.46) from my local ACE. No brainer for me. I'll support the local guy for a bag or two here and there. I'm looking into a pallet buy with some locals here in the Atl. area.

To DFW it seems outrageous for the 3 bags...40.50 + 49.27 shipping... or $29.93 per bag...

How good is this charcoal?  I'd be interested in a group pallet buy depending on how good it is.

I have never used it - but just keep hearing about it.   Glowing ( kinda a pun I guess ) reviews...

I would like to find some at a reasonable price.

I sent an email on pallet ship prices to the area to see if its worth a possible group buy...

If anyone is doing a pallet purchase in the Clearwater/Tamp, FL area, I'd be interested in a bag or two.

Got pricing for a group buy... PM me or shoot me an email for details...

No interest in briquets - lump only.  Dont have any idea on the dock lift part.   Would take 5 to 10 bags.

Does anyone want any briquettes or purely just lump?
Also, does anyone work somewhere small with a commercial dock we could use?  I'd prefer the commercial shipping cost vs the extra costs for residential...
  • centex99centex99 Posts: 231
    boatbum - 5-10
    hogsfan - 3
    mholec - 3
tjv - local and want any?
    centex99 - 3-5
So we're up to 21... still got a ways to go to get to 50 or 60...
Should I post a new topic with the heading of group buy?
Also... after talking to wicked, there is another group buy going on in DFW... she is asking if I can have their contact info and we can likely combine the buys.  If we end up with > 1 pallet, the price could go down even more...

Ok, an order is being placed soon.  We'll be in for 20 bags total (between boatum, hogsfan, mholec, myself and tjv if he wants any).  I'll let you know when they get here... the other guy is going to get it up and have it delivered to his workplace... I'll work out getting them from there to my house in McKinney and then on to the rest of you.  I can also go ahead and front the money for the 20 bags and we can work out payment details later...
  • boatbumboatbum Posts: 1,273

I am flexible - will take up to 10 to make things work - but if anyone wants some - will dial back to 5.

centex, is this combing in with the other order?   let me know what part of town we are talking about - I may be able to help move some around.

This is coming with the other guys order... he lives in Prosper though, so I can easily go get them and bring them to my house in McKinney for everyone to come get.
