Guys, been lurking for a while, lots of great info here. I am learning alot from you. I have had a LBGE since Christmas, and I love it.
I was at my local Ace today, and they had the BGE instant read thermometer. Anyone have one? They any good? I have heard about the others you recommend, just wondered your thoughts. Thanks.

Thermapen runs about $90. This is worth holding out for. It is by far the best. BGE is not the same.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I have the BGE thermometer and works great. It hasn't failed me when I cook.

Milkman they do work. Just the Thermapen will work in 3 seconds (if your hand is in a hot egg, 3 seconds is good). It is a professional tool. They both work fine, one is just a lot faster. To me(IMO) this tool is the number one thing you should buy after your Egg.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). I say you should buy some lump after the egg (if you didn't get a bag thrown in with the package) so you can cook, and then a thermapen.

If you don't have a thermapen, get a good pair of gloves. Can come in handy in a hot egg.Eggo in N. MS
