I thought I'd throw a frozen pizza on the egg last night. I got home from work, stirred the old lump from my last pork shoulder, lit it up and thought to myself, heck, since I'm cooking hot tonight, I'll burn all this grease, drippings and junk off of my platesetter first. Lots and lots of smoke around 550 degrees. I opened up the egg and it appeared that the drippings had liquified and were actually being drawn through the ceramic and out the top. (Low & Slow legs up, last night legs down). I rubbed the grease as best as I could to coat the platesetter and closed the lid again. When I came back out, tons (and The Rock means tons) of smoke was jetting out the top of the egg. Temp around 700, and when I opened the egg, my platesetter caught on fire.

Needless to say, I was unable to cook my pizza on the egg last night. It was pretty cool, though, so I thought I'd share. Also, I totally torched my gasket.
