First odd cook (sorry no pics)

So for Valentine's day, I thought I'd try my first flank steak. After marinating for 12 hours or so and getting the egg to 500ish, I threw her on. 2 minutes, turn...2 minutes, turn...check temp. I'm waiting for the magical 130, so I put the steak back on with the thermometer inside and go back in the kitchen. 2 minutes later, I peek outside and there is a cloud of ash floating around under the covered porch.

UH-OH, I says to myself, I think I know what I just did. Sure enough, I'd burst the glass on my thermometer. No mind. Everything tasted great!
