you folks that go sans gasket, did you have to adjust you're dome hinges? did a rough scrape off of my fried first gasket and have a 1/4 inch gap back at the hinge. did you just burn them off and keep cooking; or did you scrape and clean and adjust hardware?

    Salado TX Egg Family: 2 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max (I'm good for now).

  • I think you could loosen the top band and reseat it lower, this would give you a better overall seal.

    Just got lucky, mine all seated fine (or well enough). Can go low/slow and cover to save lump.
    Salado TX Egg Family: 2 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max (I'm good for now). 

  • took both bands off and top and bottom fit nicely. should work out good. got a rutland gasket kit should i need it. thanks again.
