Where are the go-to beginner instructions?

Hello all,

Just pulled the trigger on a large BGE to be delivered next weekend and I'm trying to read what I can to be ready for it.  Appears that the instructions are spread out and many of them answer very specific questions.  Where are the BASICS?  I have the BGE cookbook, and it's not very useful at all.
