GOt the new egg home and assembled. Don't have any smoke coming out from around the seal, so assembled correctly!!. Cooking a loin and some wings. So far so good. Keeping temps is a breeze. Getting the settings to correlate with the temp I want is a challenge, haha. New grill gotta learn it.

Congrats!  I did my first cook last night, and it was a breeze, though I did burn the chicken a little after I added the BBQ sauce...   :P

  • Check into a DigiQue.  It will make the BGE even easier to control.

Digique might be an addition way down the way. Maintaining is easy. Gotta get the quirks down pat and it will be a cinch

Calibrate your thermometer - you may be maintaining at a temp you don't want

reh111, been calibrated.  I am getting better in tune with the grill, beginning to get the hang reaching and maintaining my goal temps.

That would be the sugar in the sauce ... sugar doesn't like high temps. for some reason ...
