|• ½ Cup slivered almonds|
|• ½ Cup either chopped walnuts or chopped pecans|
|• ½ Cup onions|
|• ½ Cup celery|
|• 1.5 Cup dried cherries|
Cook the Uncle Ben's according to package directions. You may have difficulty finding the "Brown and Wild Rice Mushroom Recipe" which is one of their six offerings. I have made it with just the "Original" and while it is great, the "brown and wild" is far superior in this dish. I even had to have a buddy ship me 8 boxes from Texas where it is made!
Cook the almonds and nuts in a skillet with a two or three pats of margarine over a medium heat until brown. Be careful not to burn them.
add onions, celery and cook until tender - may need more margarine
add the cooked Uncle Ben's and the dried cherries and stir quite thoroughly
Transfer to a baking dish, spread evenly and top with several pats of real butter
Bake covered for 15 to 20 minutes at 325°
