1 lb Red or white cabbage (or combination), shaved 1 Shallot, chopped
1 Red onion, very thinly sliced 2 Clove Garlic
1 Carrot, julienned ½ Cup Canola Oil
2 Jalapenos, seeded and julienned 2 tsp Honey
½ Cup Fresh cilantro, coarsely chopped ¼ Cup Champagne Vinegar
¼ tsp Black Pepper 1 tsp Salt
1 Cup Loosely packed fresh basil leaves
InstructionsIn a large bowl, place cabbage, onion, carrot, jalapenos, and cilantro leaves. Chill until ready to serve.
For the dressing: In a blender, place basil, shallot, garlic, and oil. Blend until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and add honey, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
Assembly: Pour dressing over slaw 5 minutes before serving. I like to sprinkle a few chili-roasted pecan halves over the top, too.NotesNumber of Servings: Time to Prepare:
